Scanning. Our modern high
resolution A3 flatbed scanner is calibrated to ensure accurate colour capture.
Images larger than A3 are scanned in multiple overlapping strips which are
stitched together in the computer to produce a single seamless digital image.
Highly textured art not suitable for flatbed scanning is photographed as an
standard 5x4 in transparency which is scanned to produce a computer image to the
same size as the original art.
Gamut Adjustment. The
number of colours achievable by mixing cyan, magenta, yellow and black (the CMYK
printers inks) are fewer than those that an artist can produce with the huge
range of art materials available today. Our giclée printer uses 7 colours to
achieve a wider gamut but with our extensive colour management technology we can
achieve a highly professional reproduction with the same colour balance,
contrast and pigmentation of the original.
Giclée Printing. Our large format
printer takes roll paper and sheets up to 24 inches wide (A1). The inks used are
special pigment inks which when used on inkjet prepared art and photographic
papers provide a colour fast image for in excess of 75 years. We have invested
heavily in colour management technology to ensure consistently accurate
reproductions of your original art. Our prices are calculated per centimetre of
roll paper used. This allows you to have multiple images across a 24 inch strip,
so saving money.
Print-on-Demand. Giclée printing
allows us to offer a ‘print~on~demand’ service. Unlike traditional litho, you
do not need to pay for, not hold, large stocks of prints. You order
what you want when you want it -
our minimum order is one print.
